A.S. Hoagland, Ph.D., EE Faculty. He worked twenty-eight years with IBM, during which time he made major contributions to magnetic recording and the development of magnetic disk drives. He founded the Institute for Information Storage Technology at Santa Clara University in 1984 and is author of the book, Digital Magnetic Recording and co-author of Digital Magnetic Recording, 2nd Edition
